God, grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change
The courage to change the things that we can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
God grant us the knowledge that we may work according to your great divine precepts.
Install in us a sense of your purpose.
Make us servants of your will and grant us a bond of selflessness, that no addict anywhere need die from the horrors of addiction.

New GSF Topics
1. Regional Service Committee (RSC) Speaker Jam
- Looking to put together a committee to arrange an RSC Speaker Jam.
- The RSC is being held at Dianna Plaza 20th July 2019. It is proposed that the Speaker Jam be held around that time to leverage off the fact that the RSC members are already here.
- Looking for a venue:
- Somewhere in Annerley would be ideal.
- Looked at the previous venue, but that appears to be booked out.
- The venue at Merthyr was good for a previous event.
- Update on the progress.
- Looking to put a sub committee together to provide a dinner.
- Two (2) committee members to date.
- Need to put out the word for support.
- Leverage off the Unity Weekend to rally support.
2. Proposal for a New Women’s Meeting
- There is an opportunity to put together a new women’s meeting focusing on sponsorship and strength.
- The existing meeting clashes with Spiritual Concepts. So looking for something that doesn’t clash.
- Initial thoughts are for 6:15 pm on a Friday night somewhere in New Farm. So that members can attend both that and the Friday night topic meeting.
- The forum agreed that this is a great idea and NA related announcements can be used to get the word out.
3. Brisbane Unity Weekend
- The committee is well supported with enthusiastic and active members.
- Flyers are provided for distribution to various meetings.
- Eventbrite pre-registration is up and running.
- Discussed the fact that members in rehabs won’t be able to go to the Cairns convention so this is also about getting them involved in the fellowship in a meaningful way.
- Regular Bowlers are there on Saturday and as a part of that they will be “having a beer” between 4:30pm and 5:30pm.
- Cordoning their area off as a way to minimize impact.
- Running a new comer meeting at that time as a mitigation strategy.
4. Feed back from Communify
- Andrea from Communify has provided some feedback that there is an amount of chaos around the transition of access cards between members.
- Communify provide venues to us for $5.00 per hour.
- It would behoove all members to make the transitions between different card holders as smooth and seamless as possible.
5. Lunchies
- A few members have experienced a few issues at the lunchies.
- Perhaps an induction of how to chair a meeting would be beneficial.
- It may be valuable to ask non-home group members to co-chair meetings to provide experience in chairing a meeting.
- The group agreed to an NA related announcement that Lunchies need support from older cleaner members.
6. Local Service Conference / Board Update
- Discussion around NA today (mag)
- The board recommend it lives in PDF and stop distributing.
- Printing limited to H&I.
- Discussion that they are not spending 7th
- Mechanism for how this money is being spent
- RSC costs $6-8k to put on
- Necessary function
- Doing it via skype – wouldn’t work
- Web conferencing functions that might work.
- Positions vacant on the RSC
- Jenny to provide a list of the positions vacant.
- There is an H & I group and the board
- LSC –
- Board are meeting in cairns in July
- Next LSC in august
- What is the role of the LSC and what is the role of the board
- Topic for the next meeting
- Whether or not we feel as a GSF should we really taking our own H&I …
- Should we be more empowered about the services that we take on and offer here
7. Homegroup and sponsorship workgroup
- The group supported a homegroup and sponsorship workgroup.
