Northern Australia Service Area H&I Report – July 2024

·        Contacted Rachel L (HADS and Moonyah Coordinator) regarding:

o   contacting members on the HADS and Moonyah rosters to promote correctional H&I

o   reinstating the RBWH Mental Health Centre meetings.

o   Rachel to send a group text and Meredith to follow up with the RBWH Mental Health Centre to determine interest.

·        Clayfield House (supported accommodation facility for 63 residents) approached the H&I Hub at the NA Convention following the PR Forum regarding establishing NA meetings for residents.

o   H&I Hub contacted Clayfield House and left message

·        Accepted request generated by the Convention’s PR Forum to meet AODS in Ipswich August 11 in collaboration with John C.

·        Contacted About Time, a new monthly national Australian prison newspaper, requesting cost of advertising NA’s H&I service in prisons and to encourage prisoners to maintain their recovery upon release by attending NA meetings.

o   Brad progressed this opportunity to Region. Michelle C advised it could be considered if no cost was involved.

o   Added to agenda for the Northern Australia Service Area Board meeting on 29 July.

·        Monthly H&I reports are uploaded onto NA website.
