Meeting opened at 12pm at St Marks room at Winnetts Rd Daisy Hill.

Item 1. Pride Festival – 

LOGAN OUT & PROUD – OCTOBER 12th.

This project has fallen through – the papers for the event have not been lodged so we will not be participating this year.

 

Item 2. 

Local Service Conference – (LSC) 

Sunday 24th November 10am til 2pm

Will be held on zoom as to would have been expensive to adequately provide gear for a hybrid meeting and it was not inclusive to cater only for the inner city folk that could easily attend in a venue at Newfarm The venue was also not available that day so the Local Service Board made the decision to have the LSC as a zoom meeting.  All members are invited to attend for all or part of the meeting. Elections will be held and service positions are available.  

Item 3. 

Logan becoming an independent Area – something to be discussed as a future venture. It was decided by consensus to defer the decision and discuss this idea as there are not enough members attending the GSF to form an Area Service Committee.

Item 4.

Wednesday night meeting Waterford.

Naje and Vinnie attended and are requesting that the meeting be included back on the meetings list on the website. The new members have stepped up and structured the meeting to operate within the NA traditions. It is an open meeting and would like to be a registered NA meeting. OCM’s are welcome and needed to give lifts to the residents to attend other local NA meetings. 

Item 5. Christmas holidays; meetings open: Bring a Plate

New Business

Item 1. New Draft Guidelines for the Northern Australia Area.

The Draft Document has been completed and posted on the website for all NA members to read through and make suggestions etc. to the Area Policy Workgroup please.  

It is a large document with about 20 pages of resources at the end .  It is suggested that members start with the service topic that of most interest and start there. In total there are about 40 pages of actual policy reading.  

Already a grammar error has been reported so this is not a final document.

A proposal will be presented at the upcoming LSC for the Draft Guidelines to be accepted “in principle” with the idea that it will be a living document and open to change.

Meeting needs to go onto Website  meetings list and be registered as an NA meeting.

New members willing to take on a 12 month commitment to keep the meeting going.

OCM’s needed to take residents to local NA meetings.

Holding $166.40 from previously and will purchase NA literature.

Discussion on doing a meal before the meeting.
