  • Agreed that in future minutes will be plaved in Whatsapp LSB chat for 1 week for LSB to approve and post on NANASA website

Discussion:

Whatsapp Group Chats:

  • General feedback from members on the group chats is that they think the chats’ are a great idea although just a little to much going on and people are becoming disinterested
  • Dillon proposed idea that we have 2 Whatsapp groups; 1 as an information point for what is going on in NA at an area, region, world level etc and 1 for connection where we ask questions and so on.
  • Board agreed that we needed to keep discussion to the point and take discussions offline so that members can take back what they need to do to groups and further discussion can be had at LSB/LSC level
  • Board agreed to step in and take initiative with questions being proposed to group chats
  • Good feedback about how chat was good for generating ideas about workshops for GSFs
  • Dillon to propose to Whatsapp chat; what do members and groups want out these group forums?

Roving ARSC Pitch:

  • Dillon prepared a document with questions to the ARSC
  • Roving ARSC is being held in November, proposal bids being decided on at March ARSC
  • Agreed that NANASA will put in a bid

Phone number transitions in Carins and Townsville:

  • Agreed that changing landlines from landlines to 1300 as costing NA a fair bit of money
  • Joymaree sent material to Cairns and Townsville for this transition
  • Joymaree also to send material to Darwin

Sydney Convention:

  • Phil from Sydney convention has asked us to promote event in QLD and if anyone wants to share at convention then to get in touch
  • Agreed to announce at meetings and post on local social media recovery pages
  • If anyone would like to attend convention then that would be their own decision backed by their own finances

Vacant service positions:

  • To be advertised in newsletter
  • Noted that Meredith was bearing the load of being Acting in 2 service positions
  • Dillon put to Board if there was any interest amongst members or if anyone knew of anyone that could fulfill these roles
  • Dillon mentions that someone is interested in ALT-RCM role
  • Agreed that a working group would be ideal for H&I role, Meredith happy to facilitate
  • Discussion had around need to get people on to H&I rosters, especially in correctional facilities. Dillon to have discussions with Meredith offline about a recruitment drive for

H&I

  • Maredith enjoying be Acting RCM she says. Has attended recent Vic/Tas LSB, Dillon asked for invite

Newsletter:

  • Dillon made it clear that what needs to be included in the newsletter has to be what is going on at a board level as that was the original train of though for the newsletter being around the communication issues with the Board and the GSFs
  • Joymaree disagree’s with Dillon’s previous comment. Joymaree said that what she recalled was that the newsletter was to connect the LSB/LSC with all GSF/GSR and groups that fall under NANASA
  • Some discussion had around inviting PR members who are writing newsletter to LSB to sit in so they know what’s going on
  • Joymaree to take discussion back to PR work group for newsletter before final copy

LSC Preparation:

  • Dillon acknowleddged Cameron’s efforts for last LSC and how much everyone – Board members, GSF’s, GSR’s got out of it
  • Cam to focus on H&I in communities, PR in communities, what we are missing in PR and Fellowship Development
  • Cam finalising things with another member
  • Cam to have survey out when he can
  • Cam would like to put forward a reporting template for funds and workshop requests for GSR/GSF to report to the LSB/LSC
  • Discussion had around formulation of workshops for North Brisbane, Toowoomba, Townsville
  • Discussion had around workshop need for Fellowship Development and H&I, agreed that it needs to be a strategic approach when delivering workshops. Cam has members ready to come on board for delivery of workshops and he can train them up
