What do GSFs do?

The GSF functions as a discussion-based gathering of the local NA groups and is founded on consensus-based decision making. The GSF is where groups can share problems they may be encountering and seek solutions from each other, to talk about what is working well, and to have informal workshops on topics of their choice.

GSFs are made up of representatives from group meetings, however all NA members are welcome to attend. Newer members can learn more about NA and Older Cleaner Members (OCMs) can share their experience, as well as mentor members.

Other GSF activities include:

  • Literature distribution
  • Workshops and training sessions
  • Planning local activities such as Unity Days, BBQs, trivia nights

Brisbane is made up of three GSFs (Brisbane Inner City, Northside and Southside) who generally meet on a monthly basis.

GSFs also meet in Alice Springs, Cairns, Capricorn Coast, Darwin, Fraser Coast, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Townsville.
