Subject: Information about Narcotics Anonymous in your area

Dear XXX

We are writing to inform you about Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings in your area.  As your organisation may interact with people with drug dependence, we wished to make you aware that NA provides a free, community based resource for addicts living in the community or after they have been in treatment.

Please feel free to refer people with drug problems to our meetings, or pass information about our program to those who may benefit from it. We hope you find the following information and attached pamphlets and current meetings list helpful.

NA is a member-driven, international organisation in which no dues or fees are charged for membership. It was established in 1953 and there are now more than 60,000 weekly meetings in more than 140 countries worldwide.  There are (x number of) weekly meetings in the XXX area and 11 online weekly meetings for people in remote areas (which can be accessed by a free phone call-back).

All we ask is for a potential member to have a desire to stop using drugs.  Narcotics Anonymous is a twelve-step approach to recovery with the primary purpose of helping any individual stop using drugs.   The NA program focuses on a person’s recovery from the disease of addiction, rather than any specific drug.  Through our regular weekly group meetings and the therapeutic value of one recovering addict helping another, our members learn how to live drug-free and productive lives.  More information about NA is available on our website www.na.org.au.

We are willing to provide your organisation with a presentation to help inform you about NA.  Please contact us if you would like a presentation, more literature, posters, meetings lists, or if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Your role, Your NA service body
