The Regional Service Body of Australia Incorporated (RSBoA Inc)

Purpose
The purpose of the Australian Regional Service Committee (ARSC) is to encourage growth and unity in the Fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous (NA) both within the Australian Region and throughout the world.
Background
In July 2019, the ARSC formed a Legal Status Workgroup and appointed an experienced not-for-profit lawyer to review NA’s tax and legal status. Following presentation of the findings in July 2020, the ARSC endorsed establishing the ARSC as a legal entity and registered charity. At the Regional level, NA now has formal legal status as both an Incorporated Association and a Charity.
Alignment with Other Service Bodies
This approach is consistent with other 12-Step Fellowships, NA World Services (NAWS), and the Asia Pacific Forum (APF), helping ensure legal compliance and protection for Trusted Servants carrying out their duties.
Spiritual Alignment
These changes are aligned with the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, 12 Concepts, and Spiritual Principles, supporting NA in carrying the message to the addict who still suffers.
New Legal Entity
The new legal name for the ARSC is the Regional Service Body of Australia Incorporated (RSBoA Inc). The Management Committee comprises the current ARSC Administration Committee members. A Public Liability Insurance policy has been established in the name of RSBoA Inc.
Operational Changes
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held each September and observers are welcome to attend. RSBoA Inc is regulated by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). All decisions affecting NA as a whole continue to be made by the full ARSC.

The AGM and Financial Report for the 2019-2020 financial year, insurance documents, Certificate of Incorporation, and Charity Registration Certificate are available on the NA website. Meetings and Areas continue to operate as normal.
