Prerequisites
- Membership of a Southern Sydney Area Group
- Knowledge of the Southern Sydney Area Service Committee Standing Policy and Procedures
- Good working knowledge of 12 steps, 12 traditions and 12 concepts
Job Description
- To adhere to SSASC policies and procedures.
- To attend the Combined Sydney (Metro) PI meeting, carrying the message of the SSASC
- Carrying the message of the SSASC
- To attend Southern Area Meetings and present a written monthly report to the SSASC see attached reporting guidelines.
- To liaise with P.I. representatives in other Area’s of Sydney NA.
- Responding to requests for speakers from churches, civic organizations, schools, or the media.
- Develop and distribute posters, fliers, and other public service announcements to inform the public of how to reach us.
- Develop and present Learning days and Workshops.
- Mailing meeting directories, informational letters, and pamphlets to people who may come in contact with addicts.
- Cooperate with the H&I Committee on overlapping projects.
- Where separate phoneline or office committees do not exist, a P.I. committee may be responsible for operating a phoneline.
- Read position description at the SSASC biannually.
- Announce end of term two months prior.
- Hand over to elected P.I. Representative at the end of term spending time to provide as much helpful information as possible.
- The PI Representative will also read and use the booklet titled ‘A guide to Local Service in Narcotics Anonymous’ and other NA literature to assist in conducting their role in accordance with NA concepts and Tradition
