Regional Committee Member (RCM) Job Description

The RCM will adhere to their job description as follows:

Suggested clean time – 2 years

Commitment – 2 years

Prerequisites

  1. Membership of a Southern Sydney Area Group
  2. Knowledge of the Southern Sydney Area Service Committee standing policy and procedures
  3. Good working knowledge of 12 steps, 12 traditions and 12 concepts

Job Description

  1. To adhere to SSASC procedures.
  2. Be prepared to become one of the four co-signatories of the SSASC bank account.
  3. As one of the co-signatories help to maintain financial transparency and support the treasurer in their role and assist the area treasurer with the accounts if required.
  4. As an elected servant of the Southern Area, you are required to be transparent at all times in this role to the area’s groups and members.
  5. To participate in Regional quarterly meetings and Metro monthly committee meetings, carrying the conscience of the members of the Southern Area, presenting a verbal and written monthly report to the SSASC as per the SSASC reporting guidelines for the RCM and presenting a verbal and written monthly report to Metro and a verbal and written quarterly report to Region.
  6. Work with fellow RCM and SSASC committee members to ensure that the Sydney Southern Area is represented at all Regional and Metro committee meetings.
  7. To table or make a copy available of the Regional minutes at the SSASC after each Regional Service Meeting.
  8. Announce end of term three months prior.
  9. Hand over to elected RCM/s at the end of term spending time to provide as much helpful information as possible

 

The RCM will also read and use the booklet titled ‘A guide to Local Service in Narcotics Anonymous’ and other NA literature to assist in conducting their role in accordance with NA concepts and Traditions
