Position Title:Public Relations Chair
Term:1 year (plus option of 2nd year)
Clean Time Requirement:3 years (and one year previous Area service)
Float:$150 per month (last increased Oct 2014)
Duties and Responsibilities:Adapted from ‘A Guide to Local Services’
Public Relations Chairperson is responsible for:
• informing addicts and others in the community of the availability of recovery in NA
• producing and distributing the SA Area Meetings List
• producing and distributing fliers/posters etc. announcing that NA is available and that information is available by either calling the local NA Phone line or by attending an NA meeting
• conducting presentations that carry the NA message to addicts who are unable to attend a meeting e.g. addiction treatment centres, mental health facilities, therapeutic communities and correctional facilities
• may conduct ‘public meetings’ for community members
• distribute public service announcements to local radio and television stations
• responding to public media inquiries
• maintenance and storage of PR archives and documents
• responsible for maintaining the saana.meetings@gmail.com email address
• When in receipt of ASC funds or a float, the Chair must present a detailed financial report to the Area each month, in accordance with Policy 15.1
