e) Ideas for other regular activities

8. Outcomes of discussions

a) There was a consensus from the present members that we share group reports at the start of the meeting, just a basic overview of how that group is going NOT in detail about group level needs for discussion (eg. Going well/successes noted or struggling and needs support etc). If any group in the Bayside GSF is struggling in anyway, we will announce that it needs support at other homegroups.
Alex Hills Monday night “Living in the Solution”, “Serenity on Saturday” Alex Hills, Wynnum Thursday, Victoria Point Wednesday night all going well. Cleveland – Struggling with numbers, thus rent is not sustainable long term. Looking for alternative venue. GSF discussed mentioning in NA related announcements and encouraging members to bring cash for 7th Tradition donations to help financially support. Cleveland to update next month’s GSF on their situation.

b) Fund Flow is sending the remaining 7th Tradition money that isn’t needed for the group to other NA service system eg. Narcotics Anonymous Northern Australia Service Area account, Region or directly to NAWS (NA world services). Groups should keep a prudent reserve and not have too much excess funds. Eg. One month’s running costs is a good amount for prudent reserve (for rent, literature, coffee/milk supplies). This prevents there being stress placed on the group/treasurer and that it isn’t stagnant and can be fund flowed to areas needing funds. Will provide the bank details for groups to fund flow, attach to the minutes.

c) The attendees discussed different workshop ideas to have at future GSF’s. Eg. Building stronger homegroups, maintaining recovery atmosphere at meetings, group roles and responsibilities, service mentors / sponsors to help show how to do service. Website was mentioned for service events/dates to be updated

d) Unity Day committee meeting date set – Friday 17th 6:15pm June 2022, at Cleveland Venue before 7pm meeting. Was mentioned it is a good way to drum up support at Cleveland considering it is struggling.

e) Activities were discussed. Members mentioned that attendance at the bowling night was small. BBQ days are a bit outdated/boring/old hand idea.. Member would like to have an “open-mic” music/talent type night. People were encouraged to attend the Unity Day committee meeting to bring forward their suggestions. Also, website was mentioned for events page
