All Australian Regional Service Committee (ARSC) positions are elected by the ARSC.
There are 2 primary requirements for ARSC membership:
- There is a two-year minimum clean time for ARSC participation. Nominees for positions must meet the clean time requirement as per policy description for the position,
- ARSC participants and nominees must reside within the Australian Commonwealth and its States and Territories.
Position Commitments
Currently, all positions, apart from the Regional Delegate (RD) and the Alternate Delegate (AD), are two-year commitments. The Regional Delegate (RD) and the Alternate Delegate (AD) position is a 3-year commitment.
Elections take place during the July ARSC meeting of every second year (currently these are odd-numbered years, ie, 2025, 2027 and so on). All positions are declared vacant at end of the ARSC meeting , at which point newly elected trusted servants take up their new positions.
Elections are held for all ARSC positions except for the RD where a vote of confirmation is undertaken to confirm the AD into the position of RD.
When positions become vacant before completion of the two-year term (or three year term for RD/AD) the ARSC will advertise that position as vacant, and hold an election for that position at the following ARSC meeting.
All Australian Regional Service Committee position holders may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The RD may only serve one term.
